POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. - The Marist Athletics Department and Clear Channel of the Hudson Valley will have an expanded radio agreement for the 2012-13 season. The agreement includes broadcasting all Marist women's basketball games on WKIP (1450 AM). Additionally, this Saturday's Marist men's basketball game at Columbia will air on Rock 93.3 FM.
Geoff Brault will once again provide play-by-play for Marist women's basketball broadcasts. A 2008 Marist graduate, Brault is in his sixth year as the voice of the Marist women's basketball team.
"We are excited about expanding our partnership with Clear Channel Radio of the Hudson Valley," Marist Associate AD/Internal Affairs Travis Tellitocci said. "Our women's basketball fan base, which continues to grow, will now have the opportunity to listen to games consistently on the radio. Broadcasting all of our games on 1450 AM WKIP and select games on Rock 93.3 increases exposure for Marist basketball throughout the Hudson Valley."
Dean Darling (play-by-play) and Steve Eggink (color) will have the call of Saturday's Marist-Columbia men's basketball contest. This game will mark the second Marist Athletics competition that will be broadcast on FM this season. The Red Foxes' home opener for football against Bucknell on Saturday, Sept. 8 also aired on Rock 93.3.
"This is a very exciting opportunity for us in bringing Marist men's basketball to our Rock 93.3 listeners," Clear Channel Vice President and Market Manager Chuck Benfer said. "Marist plays such an important role in the Hudson Valley as well as our community and it is our honor to be partnered with Marist in broadcasting their men's and women's basketball games."
In addition to the men's basketball game at Columbia on Rock 93.3, Marist will also have radio broadcasts on its football and women's basketball games on Saturday. The football game at Campbell, which is set for a 1 p.m. kickoff, can be heard on WKIP with Ed Weir (play-by-play) and Mike Ferraro (color) on the call. Brault will have the call of the women's basketball team's game against Princeton at McCann Arena at 7 p.m.
A 15-minute pre-game show, which will include interviews with Marist head coaches, will precede each Marist radio broadcast. A free audio stream of each game will be available on GoRedFoxes.com, and fans can also listen to the games on their mobile device or tablet through the iHeartRadio app.
