Three Marist Football Players Earn College Football Performance Awards

POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. – Three Marist football players – senior quarterback Chuckie Looney (Ocala, Fla.), senior wide receiver Armani Martin (Pembroke Pines, Fla.) and senior free safety Nick Kaszei (Brook Park, Ohio) – earned College Football Performance Awards as a result of their play at San Diego this past Saturday.

Looney completed 19 of 33 passes for 298 yards, and set a single-game program record with five touchdown passes. Martin was on the receiving end of three of Looney's scoring tosses, which tied a single-game program record. Martin finished the game with six receptions for 118 yards. Kaszei had an 88-yard interception return to the San Diego 3 in the fourth quarter, which led to the Red Foxes taking a 33-32 lead four plays later with 5:19 to go. Kaszei added six tackles, including four solo stops.

The Marist football team (3-3 overall, 2-1 Pioneer Football League) returns to action on Saturday with a PFL contest at Davidson. Kickoff is set for 1 p.m. The game will conclude a stretch of five out of six games that the Red Foxes will play away from home.
