Marist Starts Road Swing At Saint Joseph's

PHILADELPHIA, Pa. -- The Marist men's basketball team (0-2) will return to action on Wednesday night, when the Red Foxes face Atlantic 10 foe Saint Joseph's (1-0) at Hagan Arena. Tip-off is set for 7 p.m.

This is the first meeting between Marist and Saint Joseph's.

Marist is opening a stretch of six straight games away from McCann Arena, and the Red Foxes are in the midst of a stretch of five straight games to open the season against teams which qualified for postseason play last year. Marist's first five opponents this year - Stony Brook, Elon, Saint Joseph's, Providence and Maryland - combined to win 108 games last year.

Junior swingman Chavaughn Lewis (Queens, N.Y.) became the 29th player in program history to score his 1,000th career point as a Red Fox in Marist's home opener against Elon on Sunday. Lewis enters the game with 1,006 career points.

Saint Joseph's is playing its home opener. The Hawks, who were picked to finish fifth in the Atlantic 10 preseason poll, defeated Vermont 74-64 on Saturday.

Dean Darling (play-by-play) and Ed Weir (color) will have the call on the Red Fox Network beginning at 6:45. Fans can listen for free on GoRedFoxes.com, on WKIP (1450 AM) in Poughkeepsie, and through iHeartRadio.

Following Wednesday night's game, Marist will return to action on Saturday at Big East foe Providence. Tip-off is scheduled for 4 p.m., and the contest will be broadcast on Fox Sports 2.
