POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. -- The Marist football team will hold its annual Spring Game on Saturday at 6 p.m. at Tenney Stadium. The contest will wrap up Spring Practice as the Red Foxes prepare for the 2013 season.
The format will be that of a regular game, with 15-minute quarters and regular timing rules. Kickoffs will only be held at the beginning of each half, and punts will not be returned.
The teams will be selected in a draft Saturday morning by the team's captains – Nick Kaszei, Chuckie Looney, Tyler Ramsey and Paul Sakowski.
The Marist football team will begin its 2013 season on Saturday, Aug. 31 against Sacred Heart at Tenney Stadium. It is the first of five home games the Red Foxes will play this upcoming season.
Admission to the Spring Game is free. At 4 p.m., an alumni flag football game will be held. The program will also hold a Junior Day, and the schedule for it can be found here.
Money will be raised for former Marist football player Dan Smith, a member of the Class of 2008 who is currently battling cancer. Bracelets will be sold at the northwest gate of Tenney Stadium, and proceeds from the 50/50 raffle will also go to his benefit.
