CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. - The Marist men's swimming and diving team (6-3, 4-1 MAAC) lost to host Boston College, 187-113, in a dual meet Saturday.
Sophomore Ryan Murphy (New Fairfield, Conn.) was the Red Foxes' top freestyle performer, winning the 1,000- (10:00.16) and 500-yard (4:45.77) events. Right after the 1,000-yard freestyle, Murphy came in second in the 200-yard event with a time of 1:42.88, just 0.74 seconds shy of first place.
Senior Dylan Cummings (Midland Park, N.J.) won two of the four events he competed in. In the 200-yard backstroke, he finished with a first-place time of 1:55.57 and won the 200-yard individual medley in 1:58.97.
In the 200-yard butterfly, Marist had a 2-3 finish with senior Jason Ruddy (Lake Katrine, N.Y.) and sophomore Alexander Cassel (East Greenville, Pa.) finishing in 1:56.87 and 1:57.55 respectively.
On both diving boards, junior Josh Dodway (Niskayuna, N.Y.) registered second place finishes. He scored 278.02 points in the 1-meter dive and followed up with a total of 278.85 points in the 3-meter event.
The Red Foxes will take on Seton Hall at 1 p.m. Jan. 24 in their final road dual meet of the regular season before hosting Binghamton on Senior Day at 1 p.m. Jan. 31.
