STATEN ISLAND, New York – The Red Foxes collected their third consecutive and eighth overall Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference win with a 17-5 victory over the St. Francis of Brooklyn Terriers on Sunday evening. Marist now stands at 14-16 (8-2 MAAC) while St Francis drops to 6-22 (3-7 MAAC).
Amanda Amorosa led the Red Foxes with four goals, one assist, three steals, one field block, one ejection and two drawn ejections. Jocelyn McQuade chipped in three goals, two assists and one drawn ejection, Grace Doerfler finished with three goals, one assist, one steal and three drawn ejections and Susan Cantoni scored three goals to go along with two steals. Brooke Else tallied one goal, one assist, and two steals, Katie Tijerina totaled one goal, one assist, one steal, one ejection and one drawn ejection, Caoimhe Whitebloom tallied one goal, one steal and one ejection and Courtney Fisher scored one goal.
Skyler Henry, Jessica Hermosillo and Hope Vickers all shared the goalkeeping duties. Henry finished with three goals against and three steals, while Hermosillo and Vickers totaled one goal against and two saves each.
Marist scored six goals in the first by Doerfler, Amorosa (2) McQuade (counter) and Cantoni.
Four goals were scored by Amorosa (2), McQuade and Cantoni in the second.
The third period saw goals by Doerfler (2), Tijerina (penalty) and Whitebloom.
In the final quarter, McQuade an Fisher rounded out the scoring for the Red Foxes.
