POUGHKEEPSIE, New York – Marist Water Polo battled the La Salle Explorers in the MAAC Championships Semi-Final round where they won by a final score of 11-6. After a dominant season the Red Foxes head to the championship match for a rematch against Wagner College.
Kendell De Beer led the way scoring an outstanding four goals. Six other Red Foxes scored goals in the win.
Ines Sanchez recorded nine saves on 15 shots against her for a save percentage of 60%.
- Marist jumped out to an early lead, scoring four goals while shutting out La Salle, in the first quarter.
- The Red Foxes stayed hot in the second quarter, scoring another two goals while Ines Sanchez stayed strong in net to shut out the Explorers at halftime.
- Marist kept their foot on the gas, scoring another four goals to go up on La Salle 10-3 in the third quarter.
- In the fourth quarter the Red Foxes held off the Explorers to win by a final score of 11-6 and head to the Championship match.
- The Seahawks finished the regular season with an overall record of 13-12 and conference record of 6-2.
- Wagner entered the MAAC Championships as the #3 seed and faced off with the #2 seed Villanova Wildcats.
- In a back-and-forth battle Wagner came out on top to win by a final score of 12-11 and look to defend their 2025 MAAC Championship title.
- The Red Foxes and Seahawks faced off three times in the regular season and Marist took all three matches.
- The Red Foxes will battle Wagner for a MAAC Championship rematch at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday.
