POUGHKEEPSIE, New York – Rising senior center Kentrall Brooks and 2016 graduate Eric Truog of the Marist men's basketball team were named to the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) Honors Court on Tuesday.
The NABC Honors Court recognizes excellence in academics. Honorees must be a junior or senior with a grade-point average of at least 3.2 who have been at their current institution for at least one year.
Brooks is a Criminal Justice major, and Truog majored in Business Administration. Together, the duo accounted for 29 starts in the team's 30 games at the center position.
Brooks and Truog were also named to the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Academic Honor Roll earlier this month as the Red Foxes led the conference with 261 honorees. They are the only two student-athletes from the MAAC to be named to the NABC Honors Court.
Marist will be heading into its third season under the leadership of head coach Mike Maker in 2016-17.
