POUGHKEEPSIE, New York - The Marist women's and men's swimming and diving teams will travel to Rider for their third meet of the 2017-18 season. The Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference dual meet will begin at 1 p.m. on Oct. 28 and there will be a
free live video stream available.

Top Rivals
Saturday's meet will be a matchup between the two most successful MAAC swimming and diving programs in the past decade. Since 2007 Marist and Rider have combined for 19 of the last 22 conference titles between the men and women.

The Red Foxes' women's program will look to extend its MAAC dual meet winning streak to 42 this Saturday. The Marist women's last MAAC regular season dual meet loss came to Rider back in 2009. Â

Last Time Out (Women)
Marist fell to Fordham, 162-76, in its home opener for the 2017-18 season. Freshman
Heather Hartmann helped the Red Foxes score nine points by placing second in the 1,000-yard freestyle (10:41.54) and swimming the second leg on the Red Foxes' second place 400-yard freestyle relay squad. Classmate
Georgeanne Zimmerman clocked in at 2:29.72 to win the 200-yard breaststroke.Â

On the diving boards junior
Lauren Katz placed second at three meters (231.67 points) and senior
Megan Berardelli took third place in the 1-meter event with a final score of 246.37 points.

Last Time Out (Men)
On the men's side the Red Foxes defeated Fordham, 137-100, for their first victory over the Rams in three years. Senior diver Peter Gallino qualified for the NCAA Zone Qualifier Diving Championships, racking up 354.82 points in the three-meter dive. He also grabbed the top spot in the 1-meter event with 332.85 points before he was named MAAC Men's Diver of the Week. Sophomore Raislan Aiken came in second in both events.

In the fastest individual swimming performances sophomore Evan Nilsson touched first in the 1,000-yard freestyle (9:38.24) and 200-yard backstroke (1:52.98). Freshman Murray Coueslant registered three top two finishes, winning the 200-yard butterfly in 1:53.71 and coming in second in the 200-yard freestyle by .19s with a time of 1:43.37.

Scouting Rider (Women)
The Broncs' women's team has a 1-2 overall record and defeated Siena, 160-134, in its MAAC opener on Oct. 14. Rider is coming off a 201-99 loss to Lehigh at home Oct. 21.

During its last dual meet against the Mountain Hawks Rider got a strong performance from freshman Maeve Lersch, who won the 100-yard backstroke in a time of 59.13 seconds and placed second in the 50-yard freestyle (25.22 seconds). Senior Tara Maniace won the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 1:08.30 and came in second place in the 200-yard event after clocking in at 2:31.08.

In the diving events junior Breanne Hatter was the top scorer at one meter (265.27 points) and she placed third at three meters (247.50 points). Hatter has been named the MAAC Women's Diver of the Week all three times so far this season.

Scouting Rider (Men)
Rider's men's squad is 1-1 overall and will compete in its MAAC opener against Marist on Saturday. The Broncs are coming off a 185-105 win against Lehigh on Oct. 21 in which they broke five pool records.

Sophomore Justin Carey won four events. He was part of the Broncs' 200-yard medley relay quartet that kicked off the meet with a first place time of 1:32.18. Carey also touched first in the 100-yard butterfly (48.96 seconds) and the 100- (49.13 seconds) and 200-yard backstroke (1:52.75) events. He ranks among the top 50 in Division I with his times in the 100-yard backstroke and 100-yard butterfly.

Freshman diver Dillon Walles finished atop the leaderboards in the 1- and 3-meter dives with scores of 292.95 points and 355.05 points respectively. Walles led a 1-2-3 Rider finish in the 1-meter event, as he was followed by junior Joseph Warker and freshman Patrik Rollefson.

The Red Foxes will host Fairfield in another MAAC dual meet at 1 p.m. Nov. 18 in McCann Natatorium.
