Marist Graduate Myers Signs With Seattle Seahawks

Kicker Agrees To Reserve/Future Contract

POUGHKEEPSIE, New York – Marist College graduate Jason Myers signed a reserve/future contract with the Seattle Seahawks on Wednesday.

Myers spent the 2015, 2016, and part of the 2017 season as the kicker for the Jacksonville Jaguars. He converted 64 of his 79 field goal attempts (81 percent), and had 141 touchbacks in 195 kickoffs (72 percent) with the Jaguars.

Myers is one of two former Marist football players to appear in an NFL game. Terrence Fede recently completed his fourth season as a defensive end and special teams standout for the Miami Dolphins.

A 2013 Marist graduate, Myers served as the Red Foxes' primary placekicker and kickoff specialist from 2009-12, and also handled the team's punting duties in his senior year. He remains the program's record holder for longest field goal (49 yards). Following graduation, Myers kicked in the Arena Football League for the Arizona Rattlers and San Jose SaberCats.

NFL teams can sign players who are not on a 53-man roster to reserve/future contracts following the conclusion of that team's season. Myers is now part of Seattle's 90-man roster heading into the 2018 season.
