EDISON, New Jersey – Marist was voted to finish third in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference by the Coaches' Poll. Junior Hailey Wagner has been voted to the Preseason All-MAAC team.
 
Defending MAAC Champion Canisius was picked first, followed by Fairfield at second. Niagara, Monmouth, Quinnipiac, Iona, Siena and Manhattan were picked fourth through ninth respectively.
 
Wagner is coming off a 2017 season where she was named All-MAAC Second Team. She currently ranks second all-time with 198 draw controls and became the single season draw control lead last year with 136. Her career high 21 draw controls during the 2017 MAAC Championships First Round win vs Quinnipiac was tied for the most in an NCAA game all-year. During her freshman year campaign, she was named to the MAAC All-Rookie team.
 
The Red Foxes finished 10-9 last season including 5-3 in MAAC play. Marist competed in the MAAC Championship semifinals for the sixth straight season and hosted a MAAC Championship quarterfinal game for the first time in program history. The Red Foxes lost to Fairfield 15-8 in the MAAC Semifinals round.
 
Marist opens up the season at Army on Saturday, February 17 at 11:00 AM.
