Brian Parker of the Marist men's basketball team was named Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Player of the Week on Monday.
Parker averaged 23.0 points and 8.0 rebounds per game last week in the Red Foxes' first two games. He shot .517 (15-for-29) from the floor.
In Marist's season opener at Army West Point on Nov. 6, Parker had his ninth career double-double with 25 points and 10 rebounds. He shot 9-for-16 from the field and added three assists. In the Red Foxes' home victory against Columbia on Nov. 10, Parker finished with 21 points and six rebounds while shooting 6-for-13 from the field and 2-for-3 from three-point range. In both contests, Parker was Marist's leading scorer.
This is the fourth MAAC weekly honor of Parker's career. He was named Player of the Week once and Rookie of the Week twice in the 2015-16 season. Parker was named Second Team Preseason All-MAAC heading into this year.
The Marist men's basketball team (1-1) will next be in action on Tuesday at Patriot League foe Lehigh. Tip-off is set for 7 p.m.
