NASHVILLE, Tennessee - Women's basketball defeated Stetson in the Challenge in Music City to earn their fourth win of the season, making program history with a 4-0 record.Â

- Rebekah Hand scored her 1,000th career point with the very first field goal attempt, less than 30 seconds into the game.
- Marist took an early lead, up 15-9 halfway through the first. Willow Duffell made back-to-back field goals in 40 seconds.
- Midway through the second quarter, Hand had made 4/4 from 3-point territory to keep the Red Fox lead at 33-26.
- At the half, Rebekah Hand led all scorers with 12 points, going 4/5 from three point land.
- Stetson's leader was Addi Walters with 10 as Marist led 36-31.Â
- Marist made five 3-pointers in the third quarter, paced by Alana Gilmer going 3-for-3.
- The Red Foxes began the 4th with an 8-0 run, moving up to 66-49.
- The Hatters would go on a run of their own, eventually getting as close as 68-63, but never able to close the gap completely.
- Stetson was able to put on some pressure with consecutive fouls and free-throw makes in the final minute, but Marist held on for a 76-69 win.
- Alana Gilmer led all scorers with 23 points, making a new career high of 4/5 from behind the arc.Â
- Grace Vander Weide matched her career high of 17, and Rebekah Hand ended with 15.
- Stetson had four players in double digits, led by McKenna Beach and Sarah Sagerer with 16 each.
- Maura Fitzpatrick pulled down a game-high 8 rebounds.
- Overall. the Red Foxes went 42.4% from the field and 44.4% from three.
- Marist's 4-0 start to the season is a new program record.
- Rebekah Hand became the 25th player in Marist history to record 1,000 points, and now stands at 1,014.
- The Red Foxes and the Hatters are now 1-1 all-time.
"I thought we did a great job of getting out to an early lead and we never relinquished it," remarked Coach
Brian Giorgis. "Stetson was very game in the 4th quarter and kept chipping away at the lead when we went cold. But we made our free throws down the stretch for the second straight game and closed it out. I'm ecstatic for the kids. To win our first four is something that's never been achieved an it's something they'll always remember."
The Red Foxes continue the Challenge in Music City to play Hofstra tomorrow at 3:30 PM eastern time.Â
