ALBANY, New York – Junior guard
David Knudsen of the Marist men's basketball team was named to the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference All-Academic Team on Friday.
Knudsen is a Business Administration major. He was named the conference's Male Student-Athlete of the Week on Jan. 2. He was named the Marist Center for Student-Athlete Enhancement's Male Student-Athlete of the Month for February.
In 30 games this season (all starts), Knudsen averaged 10.8 points per game. He raised his scoring average 6.5 points per game from last season as he drained 59 three-pointers and shot .833 from the free-throw line. He led the Red Foxes with 28 steals, and was second with 63 assists.
To be eligible for the MAAC All-Academic Team, a student-athlete must complete two semesters at their institution and hold a cumulative grade point average of 3.20 on a 4.0 scale.
