Women's Lacrosse Heads to Fairfield

The Red Foxes Conclude Their Three Game Road Trip

POUGHKEEPSIE, NY – Women's Lacrosse will wrap up a three-game road trip at Fairfield on Saturday. Game time is scheduled for 3pm.

Last Outing
Marist fell 13-12 in a hard-fought game against Canisius. The Red Foxes are now 7-5 on the season and 3-1 in MAAC matchups. Senior Lauren Mazza and sophomore Samantha Mehalick lead the team with three goals each. Senior Morgan Jaycox and freshman Camille Renaud each contributed two. Junior Hailey Wagner and freshman Kelly George each scored one. George also had the only Marist assist of the game. Renaud won nine draw controls, while Wagner had five and freshman Romy Villemure grabbed one.

Scouting Fairfield
The Stags have an identical record to Marist - 7-5 overall, 3-1 in the MAAC. Fairfield is coming off a come-from-behind, overtime win against Quinnipiac. Both teams scored seven goals in the first half and three goals in the second half. Taylor Mitchell led the team with four goals, including the game-tying shot with 1:45 left in regulation and the game-winner at the 3:40 mark in overtime. Brooke Gallagher followed with two goals. Brenna Connolly and Kathleen Hulseman each had two assists.

Last Meeting
The Red Foxes last took on the Stags in the semifinal round of the MAAC Championships last season, falling 15-8. Mazza led the way with four goals, followed by Mehalick with two, and Olivia Pitonzo and Natalie Bonaroti with one apiece. Pitonzo also had a team-high three assists. Wagner contributed nine draw controls and two assists

Can't Stop, Won't Stop
Lauren Mazza has scored at least one goal in every game this season, and dating back to last season, she has 27 consecutive games with a goal. Her last game without a goal was on February 28th, 2017 vs Yale. The Red Foxes fell 19-10 at home and the Bulldogs limited Mazza to just one shot.
