POUGHKEEPSIE, New York -- The Marist men's soccer team and 12th year head coach Matt Viggiano '99 have announced eight incoming additions to the roster as part of the 2018 Recruiting Class that will join the Red Foxes this upcoming season at Tenney Stadium.
"I'd like to thank coach Cusano and coach Esposito for helping me put together our recruiting class" said Viggiano. "This class augments the talent we already have and we hope they can fit seamlessly into the existing group we have returning next season."
The class includes players from New York (3), New Jersey (3), Connecticut and Canada and is made up of five freshman and three transfer student-athletes from the University of Virginia, Rider University and Monroe College.
Skylar Conway: New York Red Bulls Development Academy / Mount Olive High School, NJ:

A creative and skillful midfielder, Conway has excelled playing for the New York Red Bulls Development Academy U18/19 team which is currently ranked #1 in the country and is undefeated in the USSDA 2017-18 season with a perfect record of 15-0. Currently this season, Skylar has scored 7 goals in 11 games which ranks second on the team. He was recently named Best 11 by Topdrawersoccer.com for the Winter DA Showcase in Lakewood Ranch Florida. He is ranked the 105
th overall prospect and 8
th in his region for the 2018 recruiting class by Topdrawersoccer.com. With the New York Red Bulls, Skylar has finished as a Semi-Finalist and 3
rd place in the Generation Adidas Cup Champions Division. Prior to New York Red Bulls, Skylar played for PDA Rooney winning the New Jersey State Cup Championship earning the MVP award, the Region I championship, the NPL Championship, and the Pre-Academy Championship. Skylar also played two years of High School soccer at Mount Olive where in his sophomore year he was named 1
st team All-Conference, 2
nd Team All-County, and 2
nd Team All-State.

An athletic and composed defender, Curti will add size and speed to the back line of the Red Foxes. Curti brings excellent experience playing in the International Youth Soccer Cup against youth teams such as Juventus and Toronto FC. Curti has played for both the 1999's and 2000's of his Vaughan Azzurri club that has had tremendous success in the Province of Ontario. With Vaughan during the 2017 season Curti has won the U-17 Ontario Youth Soccer League Championship, the U-18 Ontario Youth Soccer League Championship, the U-21 Provincial Elite Soccer League Championship and the Disney Soccer Showcase Division Championship.  Thru the 2015-2016 season Christian has also won the Bethesda Premier Cup Championship, been a Finalist in the Adidas Blue Chip Showcase, won the U-15 Ontario Youth Soccer League Championship, won the Provincial Indoor Soccer League Championship and won the U-16 Showcase of Champions Championship. Christian also played for his high school team St. Theresa of Lisieux Catholic High School for 4 years and attended their senior Soccer tour in Italy in grade 9. He played against top youth teams such as Lazio and Salernitana.

A midfielder that has an excellent combination of passing ability and defensive work rate, LaTorre has stood out as one of the top players in the Hudson Valley. With his Cedar Stars Hudson Valley club team, LaTorre has won the Eastern New York State Cup Championship, has won the EDP Cup Championship 4 times, and was a USA Schwan's Cup Finalist. Sam had an excellent high school career leading Warwick Valley High School to a Section 9 championship and setting the school record in career assists with 33 and assists in a season with 18. During his junior and senior years, Sam was twice named team captain and team MVP as well as being selected as an All-Class AA All-Star twice, an All-Section All-Star twice, All-State 4th Team during his junior year and All- State 2
nd Team and Eastern Region player during his senior year.

A strong and versatile forward, Meinke has the ability to contribute to both the offensive and defensive sides of the ball. With his SUSA club team, Meinke has found plenty of success winning both the Potomac and Bethesda Cup championships as well as the Disney Soccer showcase championship. SUSA is currently ranked in the top 20 in the country. At William Floyd High School, Meinke was a 4-year starter, twice named All-Conference and a Top 50 player on Long Island according to Newsday. In his senior year Meinke was named All-County, selected to the All-Star Senior game, and was selected MVP earning the leadership award.  Â

?A smart and skillful midfielder, Jacob Schulman has dominated the local high school level and has had excellent experiences overseas. Starting with TSF Academy since the U14 age group, Schulman is a member of TSF Academy's NPSL team. He has participated in national training centers, as part of the northeast regional pool for the US men's national team. He has also trained with Club Athletico Banfield, in Buenos Aires Argentina in the summer of 2016. He was invited on a trip sponsored by Generation Adidas to train at Real Madrid. Schulman was a 4 year varsity starter at Cornwall High School where he was voted Regional Player of the Year as a sophomore and he finished his career with 54 goals and 101 assists. Â

Jonah Conway: New York Red Bulls / Rider University / Mount Olive High School, NJ:Â

A quick and speedy midfielder and defender, Jonah Conway was a two-year varsity letter winner at Mount Olive High School. He scored 11 goals and had 12 assists during his high school career. He earned honorable mention All-State, Second Team All-County and First Team All-Conference as a senior after All-County Honorable Mention recognition as a sophomore. Academically, Conway was a renaissance Academic Honors as a junior and senior. On the club side, Conway played for PDA Pele from the U10 thru U16 age groups. Jonah then then made the jump to academy soccer when he joined the PDA Academy U16 team and then the New York Red Bull Academy for his U18 season. Conway spent two years at Rider University and Redshirted Freshman year. In his sophomore year of 2017, he saw action in 5 games playing a season-high 58 minutes in the regular season finale at Fairfield.

Cameron Harr: New York Red Bulls Development Academy/ Marist College/Â University of Virginia/ Seton Hall Prep, NJ:
Harr began his collegiate career at Marist and played two seasons for the Red Foxes before transferring to the University of Virginia in the spring of 2017. During his career at Marist, Harr scored 25 goals to go along with one assist for 51 points.
In his freshman season (2015), Harr was named Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Co-Rookie of the Year as well as was named to the All-MAAC Second Team and All-MAAC Rookie Team. He was also named the MAAC Player Of The Week on Sept. 14 and Oct 5. Harr started all 18 games that season for the Red Foxes and finished with 8 goals, 16 points, 43 shots and 21 shots on goal.
In his sophomore season (2016), Harr was named MAAC Offensive Player of the Year, ECAC Offensive Player of the Year, 1
st Team All-MAAC, 1
st Team All-ECAC, NSCAA 1
st Team All-Northeast Region and was named the MAAC Player of the Week on Sept. 5 and Oct. 26. Harr was second in Division 1 with 17 goals to go along with one assist, 35 points, 80 shots and 39 shots on goal. He played in all 19 games, starting 17, scored a career high 4 goals vs. Manhattan 10/19, had 4 multiple goal games and led the team in goals, points, shots and shots on goal. Harr ranked in the top five nationally in goals, points, goals per game, points per game, shots per game, shots on goal per game and game winning goals.
After transferring to UVA in the spring of 2017, Harr sat out the entire year for the Cavaliers last season due to injury.

Svyatoslav Kozak:Â Polska Norwalk / Monroe College / Norwalk High School:Â

An experienced and athletic goalkeeper, Svyatoslav Kozak has had tremendous success at every level. At Monroe College, Kozak was a NJCAA Division I national runner up achieving a record of 19-1 in his freshman year. Also in his freshmen year, he earned 12 shut outs and posted a .61 goals against average which allowed him to be selected All-Conference 2
nd Team. During his sophomore year, Kozak earned 7 shut outs and a .45 goals against average, which allowed him to be selected All Region XV 1
st Team and the United Soccer Coaches All-America East Second Team. Kozak also excelled in the classroom at Monroe College where he was selected Academic All-District First Team and CoSIDA Academic All-America® Second Team becoming only the 2
nd player to earn that award in school history. At Norwalk High School, Kozak won the FCIAC championship and the CT State Championship in 2012. He also set a school record of 14 shut outs in one season and earned 30 over his 3 years. For his efforts Kozak was selected All-Conference in 2012.Â
