HAMDEN, Connecticut – The Marist men's tennis team completed day one at the Quinnipiac Fall Open Friday afternoon and evening. The Red Foxes competed in doubles and singles in their first tournament of the fall.
 

SINGLES

• In the A singles bracket, Piotr Sowinski came away with a 6-4. 7-6 victory over UConn's Provenzano.
• Lars Schouten also defeated an opponent from Uconn, Zheng, 6-2, 6-3.
• John Oxner would fall in his singles match against UConn's Holtman, 6-4, 6-3.
• Christopher Gladden received a bye into tomorrow's single matches.
• In B singles, Jack Sequerth also earned a bye while Kian Yazdi won a three-set match against Fairfield's Magid, 3-6, 6-3, 10-7 to advance.
• Also in B singles, Max Darrington dropped his singles match to Quinnipiac's Schick, 4-6, 6-4, 10-6.

DOUBLES

• In A doubles, Piotr Sowinksi and Lars Schouten picked up a 6-3 win over Fairfield's Edwards and Shibles before falling to Wesleyan's Roji and Lilienthal, 7-6 (2).
• John Oxner and Chris Gladden fell to Wesleyan's Mooraj and Carter, 6-2.
• In B doubles, Jack Sequerth and Max Darrington won their match over UConn's pairing of Mclister and Samuel 6-4 before falling to Wesleyan's duo of Finkelman and Sweeney, 7-5.
