NEWARK, Delaware – The Red Foxes played several close sets throughout the day but ultimately fell 3-2 to Delaware and 3-0 to Columbia.

Marist picked up set wins in set one and set three, winning by two-point margins.
Nikki DeSerpa lead the Red Foxes to a 27-25 set win in the first one, landing six kills. Her last two kills give Marist set point and the win.

The Red Foxes hit set point with a service error from Delaware to make it 24-20 but the Blue hens rattled off five points to take control of the game.
Megan Fergus and
Sarah Austin came up big and landed kills to take set three 27-25.

Marist took a 12-9 lead but the Blue Hens would equalize. Fergus gave the Red Foxes match point at 14-13 but Delaware responded with three points of their own including a kill landing in the corner of the court to seal the game 16-14.

Marist played three close sets, dropping each one by three or less points. Marist took a 17-14 lead in set one but after a Columbia timeout, the Lions began to chip away at the lead and claimed it for a 25-23 win.

The Red Foxes fell behind early in the second set but climbed back thanks in part to three consecutive kills from
Madelyn Waumans to bring the score to 17-14 Marist. The set remained close the rest of the way but Columbia used a three point run to pick up a set two 25-23 win.

Set three featured a series of runs, with Columbia going up 5-1 to start the match but the Red Foxes rattling off eight unanswered points to take the lead. However, Columbia would respond with a run of its own and would hold the lead the rest of the set.
- Sarah Austin had a career high 15 kills while Jocelyn Gorman landed her first kill against Delaware.
- Waumans finished with a career high seven kills against Columbia.
- Delaware edged Marist on kills, finishing with 70 to Marist's 58.
- Set three of Delaware had 11 ties and seven lead changes.
- DeSerpa, Austin and Taylor van der Biezen all finished the day with double-doubles in at least one match with van der Biezen doubling in both matches.
