POUGHKEEPSIE, New York – Marist Tennis concludes the fall portion of team competition on Sunday, October 13 when the men's and women's teams face off against Rider at Noon.
 
This will be the first MAAC match of the season for the men, and the second-straight for the women.
 

LAST TIME OUT - WOMEN

• In their conference lidlifter, the Red Foxes cruised to a 7-0 victory over Monmouth in Poughkeepsie on October 4.
• Julia Gabay and Sam Galu combined with Amy Galloway and Vanessa Ciano to capture the doubles point.
• Those four, in addition to Jada Tijani and Nina McAllan, won their singles matches over the Hawks.

 

LAST TIME OUT - MEN

• Marist competed in the Fordham Four-In-The-Fall from October 5-6.
• Lars Schouten (A Singles) and Alexi Watelet (E Singles) won their respective flights, while John Oxner and Piotr Sowinski were named co-champions of the C bracket.
• Kian Yazdi took second in D Singles, while Oxner and Nestor Giribet Lopez nabbed the silver in the silver in the A Doubles flight.

 

SCOUTING RIDER - WOMEN

• The Broncs sit at 0-2 in the MAAC following a 6-1 setback to Niagara and 7-0 defeat to Fairfield.
• Rider has a road contest at Siena on Saturday, October 12 before Sunday's match.

 

SCOUTING RIDER - MEN

• The men are also 0-2 in conference play, with losses to the Purple Eagles and Stags. Rider lost the former match 5-2.
• The Broncs will also visit the Saints before hosting the Red Foxes
• Javier Melendez has the most singles wins for Rider, with all three coming out of the second position. Pablo Salar Carerra and Adrian Tsui are 3-2 in doubles play.

 

LOOKING AHEAD

• Marist Women's Tennis awaits the ITA Regional Tournament at Army West Point. The first day of events is Thursday, October 17.
• On the other side, the men's squad takes on ITAs in Philadelphia, PA. Penn hosts the tournament beginning on Thursday, October 17.
