Women’s Rowing Takes On Head Of The Charles

Red Foxes Seek To Capitalize Off 2018 Success

POUGHKEEPSIE, New York – Marist Women's Rowing is in Boston, MA to take part in the prestigious Head of the Charles over the weekend.

ABOUT THE REGATTA
  • The Head of the Charles, enacted in 1965, is the largest regatta in the northeast.
  • This regatta involves more than 1,000 student-athletes as they travel across the globe to compete.
  • The course covers roughly 4,800 meters, goes under seven bridges, passes numerous boathouses such as Radcliffe, Harvard, and Boston University.
 
LAST TIME OUT
  • Marist competed in the 2019 Navy Day Regatta.
  • The Freshman Four and Eight Boats finished second and third, respectively, in their collegiate debuts.
  • The top Varsity four boat captured second place.

LAST TIME AT THE HOCR
  • The Red Fox Club Four became the first Marist crew in program history to win a gold medal at HOCR, finishing in 18:44.285. Four of the five Red Foxes in that boat return for this year.
  • Marist also had its first Club Eight represented in 2018 in recent memory.
  • Sydney Ford and Bernadette Winby earned a gold medal for Rowers Representing an Undergraduate Institution in a Championship Event in the Championship 2x.
