LAWRENCEVILLE, New Jersey – Marist women's swimming and diving was defeated 157.5-142.5 by the Rider Broncs on Saturday afternoon. It was a very tightly contested meet all the way through, as the Red Foxes trailed by just 10 points heading into the final event. Rider was able to secure first place in the 400-yard medley relay, clinching the victory for the women. The Red Foxes are now 1-2 on the year, with a 1-1 mark against conference foes.
- The women opened the event with a third-place finish in the 200-yard medley relay. The team of Juliet Nowak, Georgeanne Zimmerman, Leigh-Anne Zanella, and Molly Hewett clocked in with a time of 1:51.43.
- In the first individual event of the day, the Red Foxes finished first, second, and third. Heather Hartmann clocked in at first place with a time of 10:33.19. She was followed up by Sidney Judson and Kimberly Chan.
- Judson had a great day, finishing with 16 total points, a high for all Marist swimmers. She finished in first place in the 500-yard free with a time of 5:14.14. She also came in second in the1000-yard free and third in the 200-yard free.
- Esabelle Gervasio, the reigning MAAC Diver of the Week, had another outstanding competition for Marist. She won the 1-meter dive with a score of 230.77, and then took first in the 3-meter dive later on in the competition with a score of 267.60. She had 18 points on the day. Her performance quallified her for the Eastern Zone Championship
- Zimmerman had an impressive day in the pool for Marist, totaling 13 points. She came in first in both the 100-yard and 200-yard breast, with times of 1:09.04 and 2:31.17, respectively.
The Red Foxes have next week off, and will return to McCann Natatorium on Friday. November 15 for their second home dual meet of the season. Marist will host non-conference foe Colgate at 5 p.m.
