POUGHKEEPSIE, New York – The Marist men's basketball team dropped a non-conference game to The Citadel by a score of 79-75 at McCann Arena on Saturday night.

Summary

Michael Cubbage hit a jumper on the game's opening possession, but The Citadel answered with six straight points, and did not trail the reminder of the first half.
With 2:06 left in the half, Jack Cavanaugh's three-pointer tied the score at 29 apiece. But the Bulldogs scored the final four points of the half.
The Citadel outscored Marist 8-2 in the first three minutes of the second half to tie its largest lead at 10. But the Red Foxes answered with a 12-0, punctuated by consecutive threes by Tyler Sagl, and took their first lead since the game's opening possession.
There were 13 lead changes in the final 13:35 of the game. Marist's largest lead was four, and the Red Foxes were up 73-69 with 2:55 to play on a basket by Matt Turner.
The Citadel scored the game's final seven points over the last 11:14. The Bulldogs tied the game on three free throws by Kaiden Rice, and took the lead for good on a dunk by Eddie Davis III with 23 seconds remaining.
