BALTIMORE, Maryland – Session one of the H2Ounds Invitational was completed on Friday evening, and both Red Fox squads fared well to start the competition. The Marist men's team currently sits in second place with 285 points, while the Marist women's team also resides in second place with 294 points.
The current leader on both sides of the event is the host, Loyola University. The Loyola men are currently leading the way with 343 points, while the Loyola women occupy first place with 328 points.
- The women kicked off session one by competing in the 400-yard medley relay. The team of Juliet Nowak, Georgeanne Zimmerman, Veronica Stureborg, and Jordyn Deubel placed fourth in the event, clocking in with a time of 3:53.95.
- In the first individual event of the night, the ladies finish two, three, four. They were led by Sidney Judson, who took second place with a time of 5:05.67. Deubel and Heather Hartmann finish right behind her, respectively.
- Esabelle Gervasio continued her dominance, taking first place in the 3-meter dive with 246.20 points. Madison Sweeney and Grace Reeves finished in second and third, respectively.
- The women's team closed the first session with a second-place finish in the 800-yard free relay, trailing just Loyola. The team of Molly Hewett, Jessica Freund, Judson and Deubel clocked in at 7:43.73.
- Megan Lasto led the way for the women, scoring 25 points. Gervasio had 20 points, and Sweeney had 17 points.
- The men's 400-yard medley relay was the second event of the session, and the Marist men's squad took fifth place in the event. The squad of Sean Doran, Jackson Klardfeld, Pavel Makarchuk, and Ahmed Sallam finished in fifth with a time of 3:24.03.
- In the first individual event of the night for the men, Adam Kapusta took home Marist's first and only first-place finish in swimming events. Kapusta clocked in at 4:34.60 in the 500-yard free.
- Just like the women, the men also dominated the opening diving event. David Gallino placed first in the 1-meter dive with 275.85 points, while Raislan Aiken followed him up in second place with 256.85 points.
- The men's team closed the first session placing second in the 800-yard free relay. The team consisting of Ethan McCormac, Michael O'Donovan, Ante Dany, and Kapusta clocked in at 6:49.94.
- Gallino and Kapusta were the leading scorers on the men's side, totaling 20 points each.
