POUGHKEEPSIE, New York – Marist men's lacrosse is set to begin its season tomorrow at Air Force Academy. Face-off is set to start 2 pm eastern time.

The Red Foxes went 3-12 overall last season and finished fifth in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference. They missed the MAAC Championship for the first time in five years and will look to rebound this season.

The Red Foxes were selected to finish fifth in the conference as voted on by the league coaches. Senior defender
James Sarrocco was named to the All-MAAC preseason team. Sarrocco was an All-MAAC Second Team selection last season after leading the Red Foxes in caused turnovers (14).

Marist welcomes ten new freshmen to the program for the upcoming season that will look to help Marist return to the MAAC Championships.
Hunter Embury was named a top incoming freshman specialist by Inside Lacrosse, coming in at no. 17.

The Red Foxes also welcome back
Dave Scarcello '15 as an assistant coach. The all-time winningest goalkeeper in Marist history, Scarcello led the Red Foxes to a MAAC Championship in 2015 and their first NCAA tournament victory against Bryant in a play-in round.

For the third time in the last five years, Marist will host the MAAC Championship at Tenney Stadium. This is the tenth time overall Marist will play host. The Red Foxes last hosted the tournament in 2017. Marist fell in the championship in an 8-7 heartbreaker to Monmouth.

The Air Force game has been an exciting series as of late, with three out of the last four games decided by one goal. The Falcons earned an 8-7 victory last season at Tenney Stadium. In all four of the last four games, the visiting team came up on top.

Marist will take on local Hudson Valley rival Army West Point on Tuesday, February 19 at Michie Stadium. Face-off is set of 3 pm.
