Women's Lacrosse Set to Battle Binghamton

Red Foxes Look to Keep the Ball Rolling Against the Bearcats

POUGHKEEPSIE, New York- Women's lacrosse will travel to face Binghamton at the Bearcats Sports Complex on Friday March 1st at 4 PM.
 
LAST TIME OUT
The Red Foxes got their first win of the season after defeating Vermont 15-14 in overtime. After trailing Vermont 8-4 in the first half the Red Foxes outscored their opponent 10-6 in the second half to force overtime. Marist was nearly perfect in the draw circle during the comeback to provide the offense with ample opportunities to come back. Samantha Mehalick scored in OT to seal the win.
 
SCOUTING BINGHAMTON
Binghamton is still looking for their first win after starting the season 0-4. Last season the Bearcats made it to the postseason for the first time in program history. Rebecca Golderman has been one of the best all-around players for Binghamton this season, tied for first on the team in points (6) and leads the team in draw controls (12).
 
STATS AND FIGURES
  • Marist is 11-1 overall against Binghamton.
  • Hailey Wagner's 16 draw controls against Vermont is third most in the NCAA in a single game this season.
  • The Red Foxes have edged opponents on draw controls 46-38.
  • Mehalick needs six more goals to take over sixth all-time in career goals.
