Women's Lacrosse Opens MAAC Play Against Quinnipiac

The Red Foxes Look to Start Conference Play on the Right Foot

POUGHKEEPSIE, New York – Marist women's lacrosse will open Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference play at Tenney Stadium Saturday, March 23. The Red Foxes will take on Quinnipiac at 1:00 PM.
 
LAST TIME OUT
v Marist fell to Jacksonville 20-10 on March 17 to drop to 3-5 on the season. The Red Foxes kept the deficit within one for a good part of the first half, but Jacksonville pulled away at the end of the half and never looked back. Devon Connolly scored three goals while Hailey Wagner had 17 draw controls.
 
SCOUTING QUINNIPIAC
Quinnipiac has an identical record to Marist and is also heading into its MAAC opener. The Bobcats were selected in the preseason poll to finish eight in the MAAC. Quinnipiac last played Fresno State on March 17, dropping the match 13-7. Quinnipiac's offense is powered by Allison Kuhn and Megan Szawlowski who have 34 and 25 points on the season respectively. Kuhn has picked up MAAC Offensive Player of the Week Honors once already this season.
 
FACTS AND FIGURES
  • Marist is 7-5 all-time against Quinnipiac and have won the last six meetings.
  • Samantha Mehalick ranks second in the MAAC in goals per game at 3.75. Kuhn is right behind her at three per game.
