POUGHKEEPSIE, New York – Senior guard
Brian Parker of the Marist men's basketball team was named Third Team All-Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference for the second straight year.
Parker led Marist in scoring at 14.7 points per game, and assists at 3.5 per game. Those averages ranked ninth and seventh in the MAAC, respectively. His .484 field goal percentage ranked ninth in the MAAC.
This season, Parker led Marist in assists 18 times, paced the Red Foxes in scoring 16 times, and had a team high in rebounds in five games. He scored in double figures in 25 of Marist's 30 games, and topped 20 points twice.
Parker was named MAAC Player of the Week on Nov. 12 after averaging 23.0 points and 8.0 rebounds while shooting .517 from the field in the Red Foxes' first two games of the season.
The Marist men's basketball team is the #8 seed in this year's Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Men's Basketball Championship. The Red Foxes will open the championship against #9 Saint Peter's on Thursday at 5 p.m. at the Times Union Center in Albany. For more information, please visit Marist's
