Women's Lacrosse Hosts Fairfield on Senior Day

Marist Will Honor its Seniors Prior to the Start of the Game

POUGHKEEPSIE, New York- Marist Women's Lacrosse will host Fairfield on Saturday, April 6 at 1 PM at Tenney Stadium.
 
Prior to the start of the game, Marist will honor its seniors Logan Boyle, Gabby Childrose, Audery Cerrone, Caroline Polymeros and Hailey Wagner.
 
LAST TIME OUT
The Red Foxes beat Canisius 19-14 at home on Wednesday, April 3.  Marist is now 5-7 overall and 2-2 in conference play.  The Griffins opened the game with two goals leading Marist 2-0 for the first five minutes. The Red Foxes went on a 9-1 run taking the lead and closed out the first half 11-5.  Marist continued to lead Canisius through the second half of the game resulting in a win.  Kelly George scored a career high of 11 points with five goals and six assists. 
           
SCOUTING FAIRFIELD
Fairfield is looking to extend their four game win streak and stay undefeated in the conference.  The Stags are 8-3 overall and 3-0 in the MAAC. Fairfield outscored Manhattan 14-6 on Wednesday April 3 and racked up wins against Quinnipiac and Niagara as well.  Graduate Student Brooke Gallagher leads the Stags with 25 goals and 20 assists for 45 points. 
 
STATS AND FIGURES
  • Fairfield is the defending MAAC champion and won the MAAC tournament as a three seed in 2018.
  • Marist defeated Fairfield last season in a thrilling 11-10 victory. The Stags lead the all-time series 11-19.
  • Samantha Mehalick leads the conference in scoring with 3.75 goals per game.
  • After a career game, George now ranks fourth in the conference in assists per game with 1.42. Her 11 points against Canisius were second most in a game in the NCAA this season.
  • Fairfield's Maggie Reynolds leads the conference in caused turnovers with 2.09 per game.
