Men's Soccer Hosts Saint Joseph's

Red Foxes Prepare for Saturday Night Battle at Tenney

POUGHKEEPSIE, New York – Marist men's soccer (1-2) hosts Saint Joseph's (2-2) at Tenney Stadium on Saturday, September 14 at 7 p.m. The Red Foxes look to rebound from a close loss at Penn on Monday, while Saint Joseph's will try to build upon their win in their previous game over Stony Brook.

LAST TIME OUT
  • Marist lost a hard fought 1-0 game against the University of Pennsylvania on Monday night.
  • It was a defensive battle, as the teams remained locked at zero deep into the second half.
  • The Quakers scored to take the lead in the 81st minute, which would be the eventual game-winner.
  • Despite the loss, Marist once again had the lead in shots, out shooting Penn 11-10.
SCOUTING THE HAWKS
  • Saint Joseph's comes into Poughkeepsie with a 2-2 record on the season.
  • Four players have scored goals for the Hawks, while Ritchie Barry has two goals. Barry also leads in points with five.
  • Joseph Boehm has been solid in goal, surrendering only three goals in four games for a goals against average of 0.75. He also has a save percentage of 88.9 percent with 24 saves.
  • The Hawks' last game was a 3-0 shutout of Stony Brook at home.
LAST TIME AGAINST SAINT JOSEPH'S
  • On August 28, 2015 Marist traveled to Philadelphia to take on Saint Joseph's in their 2015 season opener.
  • Marist won the game 3-2 in overtime behind five saves from goalkeeper Mark Rajovic.
  • The shots were even at 14-14, though Saint Joseph's had the lead in both shots on goal (7-5) and corner kicks (5-3).
  • Brian Koyt scored the game-winner on a rebound from a penalty kick in the 91st minute.
