POUGHKEEPSIE, New York - The Marist men's basketball team opens the 2020-21 season this weekend with a home-and-home against Binghamton of the America East Conference. Saturday's game at Binghamton will tip off at 2 p.m., and will be carried live on ESPN3. Sunday's game will take place at McCann Arena, with a 4 p.m. tip-off that will be shown live on ESPN+.
Here is a closer look at the 2020-21 Red Foxes:

The Marist men's basketball team returns 75 percent of its scoring from last season. The Red Foxes also bring back seven scholarship players who saw significant action last year, and six of the team's top seven scorers from 2019-20. The returning core is supplemented by talented newcomers who are poised to make an immediate impact.

Red-shirt senior
Michael Cubbage is in his third year with the program and second year on the floor for the Red Foxes. Last year, Cubbage shouldered a significant amount of responsibility. He led the Red Foxes in scoring (9.3 ppg), rebounding (6.1 rpg), and assists (3.4 apg). He was one of just two players in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference to lead his team in all three categories, with the other being Niagara's Marcus Hammond.

Junior
Matt Herasme established himself as a tough defensive player in his freshman year, and was one of the most improved offensive players in the MAAC as a sophomore. At 9.0 points per game, Herasme was Marist's second-leading scorer, thanks in large part to connecting on 59 three-pointers and shooting .399 from beyond the arc. Herasme improved his scoring average by 5.1 points per game last year, the fourth-highest total for any individual in the MAAC.

Sophomore
Tyler Saint-Furcy showed flashes of brilliance as a freshman, with outstanding athleticism and the ability to get hot from long range. Saint-Furcy, who was named MAAC Rookie of the Week following his first collegiate game, started 24 games last season. He averaged 6.4 points per game, and was third on the team in steals and blocked shots while shooting .371 from long distance.

These returners will be supplemented by a trio of newcomers at the position who will look to fortify the Red Foxes' playmaking. Junior
Raheim Sullivan, a Toronto native, is a junior college transfer who averaged 16.5 points, 4.4 rebounds, and 3.9 assists last season at McCook Community College in Nebraska. Freshman
Hakim Byrd led Neumann-Goretti High School in Philadelphia to four district championships, two state titles, and one Philadelphia Catholic League crown. Freshman
Ricardo Wright, a Eustis, Florida native, averaged 21.1 points, 5.7 rebounds, 3.5 assists, and 1.6 steals per game as a high school senior.

Marist has a pair of walk-ons at the position in seniors
Tucker Lee and
Terrence Echols. Lee is in his fourth season with the program, and has appeared in 18 career games. Echols is in his first season in uniform after having worked with the program as a manager in each of his first three years at Marist.

Junior
Braden Bell improved as last season progressed as he provided a spark off the bench. Bell averaged 8.2 points per game while shooting .381 from long distance. He became one of the top sixth men in the MAAC last year, as he averaged 12.6 points and 5.4 rebounds per game in his last eight contests.

Sophomore
Henry Makeny is long and athletic, and gave the Red Foxes a spark defensively in his freshman season. Makeny appeared in 24 games off the bench last season, and averaged 6.5 minutes per game.

Freshman
Javon Cooley will compete for playing time. A 6-foot-5 native of Chicago, Cooley is tough, athletic, and a strong shooter from long range. Last season at Bosco Institute, Cooley averaged 13.0 points, 6.0 rebounds, 2.3 steals, and 1.2 blocked shots per game while connecting of 45 percent of his three-point attempts.

Red-shirt senior
Jordan Jones is in his third year with the program and second year on the floor for the Red Foxes. Jones saw his production increase as last season progressed. He finished fourth in the MAAC in field goal percentage (.538) in 2019-20. He averaged 8.5 points and 4.0 rebounds per game while leading the Red Foxes with 19 blocked shots. In the final 11 games of last season, Jones averaged 11.4 points per contest, with three games scoring at least 18 points.

Senior
Zion Tordoff played in 29 games with one start last season, his first with the Red Foxes. Tordoff shot .517 from the field, and averaged 3.0 points and 2.4 rebounds in 10.6 minutes per game last season.

Red-shirt junior
Victor Enoh will be in his first season seeing live action or the Red Foxes. Enoh played his first two seasons at Memphis before transferring and sitting out the 2019-20 season. At 6-foot-7 and 250 pounds, Enoh is expected to contribute and provide rebounding and rim protection.
