POUGHKEEPSIE, New York – Two-hundred sixty-eight days after the COVID-19 pandemic halted Marist's pursuit of its 11th MAAC title during the conference tournament, the Red Foxes resume that quest in a new season on Saturday, December 5th, traveling to Army West Point for a 1 p.m. matinee.

- Prior to the cancelation of the MAAC Basketball Championships, Marist put together a historic season from a program and conference perspective, going 26-4 and 18-2 in MAAC play to earn a share of its 12th MAAC regular season championship.
- The four losses are tied for the second-lowest total in program history. It was the ninth time ever that the Red Foxes eclipsed 25 wins.
- Marist set a program record with a 48.2 shooting percentage, and ranked in the top 10 in scoring average (73.3 – second), three-point percentage (36.5, 3rd), and three-pointers made (232, 5th).
- That shooting clip was tied for the fifth-highest for a MAAC team in the conference's 40-year history. In addition, Marist's 20.03 assists per game were three-hundredths shy of the MAAC all-time record, and its 7.7 three-pointers per game ranks 10th-most.
- Marist returns two starters from last year's squad, and eight letterwinners overall.
- Senior forward Willow Duffell paced the MAAC and tied for the third-highest field goal percentage by a Red Fox in a single season with a 56.2 percent mark last year. Since the beginning of her sophomore year, Marist is undefeated (16-0) when she scores 10-plus points.
- Junior guard Sarah Barcello averaged 6.3 points per game on 43.9 percent shooting across 21 starts. Marist is 9-2 when she reaches double figures in her career.
- Other returners include senior guard Allie Best (87 assists in 30 games), junior guard Kendall Krick (29 games), sophomore guards Trinasia Kennedy, Julianna Bonilla, and Camille Loussedes, and sophomore forward Samantha Bailey.

- The Red Foxes bring in two guards and three forwards after graduating six student-athletes in the spring.
- Zaria Demember-Shazer, a 6-1 forward from Elmira, NY, racked up over 1,000 points and 1,000 rebounds at Elmira High School, winning four Section 4, Class AA titles. She was selected to the Class AA All-State Second Team in her senior year.
- Anabel Ellison, a 5-10 guard from Clearwater, FL, scored over 1,500 points at Tarpon Springs High School and added over 300 assists, rebounds, and steals. She was named the Pinellas County Player of the Year in her senior year.
- Erin Fox, a 6-1 forward from nearby LaGrangeville, NY, totaled over 1,900 points and 1,000 boards at Millbrook High School. The two-time NYSSWA Class C State Player of the Year is the Mid-Hudson Athletic League's all-time leading scorer.
- Emma Wax, a 5-10 guard from Pine Brook, NJ, ranks second on Montville's all-time scoring list with 1,387 points. She garnered Northern Jersey Athletic Conference and Morris County Player of the Year honors in her senior campaign.
- Caitlin Weimar, a 6-4 forward from Cortlandt Manor, NY, is the fifth player ever to compile 1,000 points and 1,000 rebounds at Hendrick Hudson High School. Last year, she averaged 23.4 points, 16.3 rebounds, and 4.5 blocks per game.
- Head Coach Brian Giorgis enters his 19th season at the helm of the Red Foxes. All time, he is 425-160 at Marist, including a 274-60 record against MAAC foes.
- Associate Head Coach Erin Doughty is in her 16th season on the coaching staff, and third in her current role.
- Assistant Coaches Brittany Parker and Maggie Gallagher are in their second and fifth seasons, respectively.
- Director of Operations Elyse Schlump is in her third season.

- Marist was picked fourth in the 2020 Preseason Coaches Poll, notching 82 points.
- Duffell was named to the Preseason All-MAAC Third Team, her first All-MAAC honor since she was selected to the MAAC All-Rookie Team in 2018.
- Manhattan is the preseason favorite according to the poll with five first-place votes and 109 points, followed closely behind by Fairfield (four first-place votes and 108 points) and Quinnipiac (two first-place votes and 108 points).
- As of writing, Marist plays four non-conference games in addition to its 20-game MAAC schedule.
- After Army West Point, Marist plays a home-and-home series with UAlbany on December 15th and 16th.
- Northeastern is the Red Foxes' final non-conference matchup, and visits Poughkeepsie on Tuesday, December 22nd at 1 p.m.
- MAAC competition opens up on Friday, December 11th when Canisius travels to the Hudson Valley. This season, teams square off on Fridays and Saturdays at one location that weekend.

- Alisa Fallon, an All-Patriot League selection in 2019-20, leads the team with 18.7 points per game. Kate Murray boasts 18 points per game and grabs just under 13 rebounds per contest.
- Last year, the Black Knights went 9-22, going 4-14 in conference play and reaching the Patriot League quarterfinals.

- Army Head Coach Dave Magarity, in his 15th season leading the Black Knights, is the former head coach of the Marist men's basketball program.
- In 18 seasons with the Red Foxes, Magarity won a program-record 253 games, and guided Marist to an ECAC Metro championship and NCAA Tournament appearance in his first season.
- Magarity also oversaw the development of Rik Smits, who became the second overall pick to the Indiana Pacers in the 1988 NBA Draft and played 12 seasons in the NBA.
- Last year, Magarity and women's basketball alumnae Danielle (Galarneau) Donohue, '91 were Marist's inductees to the MAAC Honor Roll.
- Marist lifts the lid on MAAC play with home bouts against Canisius on Friday, December 11th and Saturday, December 12th.
