Women's Basketball Makes Trip To Saint Peter's

Marist Shoots For Seventh-Straight Win

POUGHKEEPSIE, New York – Marist Women's Basketball tries to extend its winning streak to seven games as the Red Foxes travel down to Jersey City, NJ to take on Saint Peter's on Thursday, February 20 at 7 p.m.

LAST TIME OUT

· After trailing by one at the half, Marist outscored Siena 46 to 22 in second half en route to a 78-55 win against the Saints on February 16.
· Rebekah Hand tied her career high with 32 points on 14-17 shooting.
· Alana Gilmer tallied a double-double with 20 points and 12 rebounds, which ties her highest point total in a double-double. Her 12 rebounds along with five assists were both season-highs.
· Grace Vander Weide had 11 assists and currently sits fifth all time in assists in Marist history with 415.
· Hannah Hand added eight points on 3-5 shooting.
 
SCOUTING SAINT PETER'S

· The Peacocks are 5-10 in the MAAC, and 8-16 overall.
· Saint Peter's outlasted Fairfield 66-63 in overtime on Tuesday, February 18.
· Saint Peter's has four players averaging double digits, led by Taiah Thornton's 14.9 points per game.
· Thornton scored 23 points for the Peacocks in their previous matchup against the Red Foxes this season.
 
SERIES HISTORY

· Thursday marks the 53rd meeting all-time between the Red Foxes and the Peacocks.
· Marist holds the 35-17 edge in the series.
· The Red and White has won five consecutive games vs. Saint Peters. The last four victories been by double digits.
· On January 4, Marist scored a season-high 96 points in a 20-point win over Saint Peter's at McCann Arena. Rebekah Hand scored 25 points to lead five Red Foxes in double figures.

· Hand averaged 23.3 points and 4.7 assists while shooting 56.8 percent from the field in three wins last week.

· Entering the final stretch of the season, Marist sits atop the MAAC standings at 13-2 with an overall record of 20-4.
· Marist's remaining schedule: at Saint Peter's, vs Fairfield, at Quinnipiac, vs Iona, vs Siena.
· Rider's sits a half game behind the Red Foxes with a 12-2 record in the conference.
· Fairfield is third with a 9-4 MAAC record, while Quinnipiac is 9-5.
