LA JOLLA, California - #24 Marist water polo will compete in the Triton Invitational beginning on Saturday, February 8. The tournament, hosted by #7 UC San Diego, will feature 16 programs including #1 USC, #3 UCLA, and #5 UC Irvine. The Red Foxes will play four games against top NCAA teams throughout the two-day invitational.Â
Saturday, February 8
- Game 1 - #24 Marist vs. #7 UC San Diego - 2:10 PM ESTÂ
- Game 2 - Depending on the result of Game 1, Marist will play either #9 UCSB or #21 San Diego State that evening.Â
Sunday, February 9
- Game 3 - Depends on tournament results up to this point. Will take place Sunday afternoon EST.Â
- Game 4 - Depends on tournament results. Will take place Sunday evening EST.

- The Red Foxes competed in the Bruno Classic on Feb. 1.Â
- Marist earned a 12-6 win over Claremont-Mudd-Scripps thanks to Viktoria Orlova's second hat trick of the season and Carolyn Gauvin's two goals.Â
- Later that day, Marist fell short to #23 Bucknell, 16-12.Â
- Gauvin scored five goals for the Red Foxes, which hadn't been done since Grace Doerfler in 2019.Â
- Marina Hyham made seven saves in an attempt to hold Bucknell's offense.Â
- #7 UC San Diego enters the tournament 5-1, with a five-game win streak.
- During this season's UCSB Winter Invite, the Tritons upset #4 University of California, 14-13, in triple overtime. Â
- Returning for the Tritons is attacker Grace Pevehouse who lead the team with 66 goals and 79 total points last season.Â
- Goalie Bennet Bugelli secured 179 saves last season, awarding her a .559 save percentage.Â
The Triton Invitational is comprised of 16 teams, with 13 of those programs appearing on the most recent CWPA DI Top 25 rankings. Marist will have the chance to match up against any of these top-ranked teams.Â

- Marist will take the weekend off before hosting the Courtney Fisher Invite on Saturday, Feb. 22.Â
- The Red Foxes will match up against #20Â Wagner at 8 AM and later against LIU at 7:15 PM EST.Â
