Men’s Lacrosse to Host Delaware

Red Foxes Look to Bounce Back Against the Fightin’ Blue Hens

POUGHKEEPSIE, New York – The Marist men's lacrosse team hosts the Delaware Blue Hens on Saturday, March 7 at 1 p.m. The Red Foxes will put their undefeated home record to the test, and looks to improve to 4-0 at Tenney Stadium this season.

 
THIS WEEK'S FEATURE
  • This week's Red Fox Network focuses on junior midfielder Jason Intermesoli, and his ascent into a "floor general" role in the Red Fox offense. 
  • After making the transition from attackmen to midfielder, he has really reinvented himself this season, already accumulating 10 assists this season, while only having six total assists in the other two year's of his career.

SCOUTING DELAWARE
 
  • The Fightin' Blue Hens are 3-2 overall this season and 1-1 on the road.
  • Last season, Delaware finished 10-5 with a 3-2 conference record. The Fightin' Blue Hens lost to #2 Towson in the CAA Tournament.
  • Last time out, Delaware fell to #15 Villanova 19-10 on Saturday, February 29.
  • In the game, Delaware caused 13 turnovers on the afternoon, with Tye Kurtz, Owen Grant and Jason Seiter each tallying two apiece.
  • Delaware's senior goalkeeper Matt DeLuca was named Preseason First Team All-American.
  • Charlie Kitchen leads the team with 22 points on the season with 13 goals and nine assists.
 
HISTORY VS DELAWARE
  • Marist is 0-4 against Delaware in the history of the program, only playing one game at Tenney Stadium.
  • Marist fell to Delaware 8-7 on their last matchup on April 3rd, 2013.
  • Of the four losses, two of them were by one score.
  
UP NEXT
The Red Foxes will have a week off before opening Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference play against the Quinnipiac Bobcats. The Bobcats will make the trip to Tenney Stadium for what will be the first of three home conference games for the Red Foxes (and seven conference games overall).  Game time is set for Saturday, March 14 at 1 p.m.
