Achterkamp’s PK Lifts Red Foxes

Men’s Soccer Earns Key Three Points vs. Niagara

 
POUGHKEEPSIE, New York – The Marist men's soccer team defeated Niagara in double overtime, 3-2, in a Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference match at Tenney Stadium on Wednesday.
 
Huib Achterkamp's penalty kick in the 102nd minute was the golden goal. Achterkamp is now 7-for-7 on penalty kicks in his career, including 2-for-2 this season.
 
Summary
  • Henrique Cruz's blast from over 30 yards out got the Red Foxes on the scoreboard first in the 14th minutes.
  • Stefan Copetti's ninth goal of the year, set up by Joe Mac, put Marist up 2-0 in the 31st minute. The Red Foxes led 2-0 after the first 45 minutes.
