Marist Men’s Soccer Earns Top Seed in MAAC Championship

Red Foxes Win MAAC Regular-Season Title for First Time in Program History

FAIRFIELD, Connecticut – The Marist men's soccer team clinched the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference regular-season championship on Wednesday with a 2-1 victory at Fairfield.
 
What It Means
  • Marist, which has won MAAC Tournament championships in 2000, 2004, and 2005, won its first MAAC regular-season championship in program history.
  • The Red Foxes concluded the regular season at 7-2-1 in conference play. Their 22 points were three clear of second-place Saint Peter's. Marist completed the regular season at 10-6-2 overall.
  • Marist will open MAAC Championship play on Sunday against eighth-seeded Manhattan at Tenney Stadium. Kickoff is set for 5 p.m.
  • By virtue of clinching the #1 seed, the Red Foxes will host all MAAC Championship games they take part in.
