POUGHKEEPSIE, New York – Junior Kaley Coltrain (softball) and graduate student Sam Ahlgrim (men's lacrosse) were named April's Student-Athletes of the Month by Marist's Center for Student-Athlete Enhancement.
 
Coltrain, who is from Roper, North Carolina, is majoring in Social Work. She is a multi-time Dean's List selection, a Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference All-Academic Team honoree, and she was named an Easton/National Fastpitch Coaches Association Scholar-Athlete. A captain on this year's team, Coltrain is a member of the Marist Diversity Council LGBTQ Sub-Committee. She has interned at the Children's Home of Poughkeepsie, and is One Love Training Certified. On the field, Coltrain has done an outstanding job in her third year as the Red Foxes' starting catcher. She currently leads the team in batting average (.432), home runs (three), RBIs (13), on-base percentage (.500), and slugging percentage (.737). Coltrain was named Second Team All-MAAC, Third Team All-Region, and to the MAAC All-Rookie Team in 2019.
 
Ahlgrim graduated Magna Cum Laude last spring. The Westport, Connecticut native is now pursuing his Master's degree in Integrated Marketing Communication. He is a multi-time Dean's List selection MAAC All-Academic Team selection. He was previously honored as MAAC Student-Athlete of the Week on March 17 of this year. Ahlgrim has been heavily involved in service activities in his time at Marist. He led the Athletics Department in community service in his freshman year, and is a Children's Home of Poughkeepsie volunteer. On the field, Ahlgrim is a team captain and three-year starter on defense. He is the team's leader in caused turnovers (nine) this season, and he scored his first collegiate goal in Marist's regular-season finale against Manhattan on April 24.
