Marist Women’s Basketball Releases 2021-22 Schedule

Four NCAA Tournament Teams, 20-Game MAAC Slate Among Highlights

POUGHKEEPSIE, New York – The full 2021-22 Marist women's basketball schedule has been officially released on Wednesday afternoon. The Marist Athletics Department reveals a nine-game, non-conference schedule, while the Metro Atlantic Athletic Department (MAAC) has announced a 20-game conference docket for the defending MAAC champions.
 
The Red Foxes are coming off a season where they captured the 11th MAAC Championship in program history, going 18-4 on the season and 15-3 in conference play. Marist earned a 15-seed in the NCAA Tournament, playing 2-seed Louisville.
 
Four Red Foxes earned All-MAAC accolades in 2020-21, and three were named to the All-Championship Team, including Class of 2021 graduate Willow Duffell's Most Valuable Player honor. She was named MAAC Co-Student Athlete of the Year on the women's side, while Head Coach Brian Giorgis was tabbed The Rock MAAC Co-Coach of the Year.

  • Marist will play 29 games that includes a return to a traditional non-conference schedule.

  • Marist begins the 2021-22 season at reigning CAA champion Drexel on November 9th.
  • In a Red Fox reunion, Marist will host a three-team event with American and Vermont at McCann Arena from November 12th-14th. Former Associate Head Coach Megan Gebbia and all-time program assists leader Alisa Kresge are the head coaches of the Eagles and Catamounts, respectively. Both coaching staffs feature former Marist players and coaches Nikki Flores, Emily Stallings, Eileen Van Horn, and Dominique Bryant.
  • A homecoming road trip for seniors Sarah Barcello and Kendall Krick features games against national champion runner-up Arizona and fellow Pac-12 foe Arizona State from November 19th-21st.
  • The Red Foxes return home for a date with MAC champion Central Michigan on November 28th.
  • After opening up December at Lafayette and welcoming Columbia to Poughkeepsie, Marist visits America East champion Stony Brook on December 7th.

  • The Red Foxes formally begin their title defense with a road matchup at Fairfield on December 18th.
  • Marist closes the 2021 calendar year with home games against Iona and Canisius on December 20th and 30th, respectively.
  • The 2022 calendar year begins with a road trip to Rider (January 1st), and Manhattan (January 8th).
  • The Red Foxes will then play four of their following five games at home: vs. Siena (January 13th) and Monmouth (January 15th), a road duel at Iona (January 20th), then back home for Niagara (January 22nd) and Fairfield (January 27th).
  • Marist and Saint Peter's meet in a rematch of the 2021 MAAC Championship game on January 29th in Jersey City, NJ.
  • That game begins a stretch where Marist is on the road four out of five games: at Quinnipiac (February 3rd), home for Rider (February 5th), then the Buffalo trek to Niagara (February 10th) and Canisius (February 12th).
  • The Peacocks make the return trip to McCann Arena on February 17th.
  • After visiting Siena on February 19th, Marist hosts the Bobcats on February 24th.
  • Marist will play two games in March, beginning with a road trip to Monmouth on March 2nd and capping off with the final home game of the regular season vs. Manhattan on March 5th.
  • The 2022 MAAC Basketball Championships will take place at Jim Whelan Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City, NJ the following week.
