Women's Basketball Falls to Canisius

A Season High of 23 Points for Fisher

BUFFALO, New York – The Marist women's basketball team dropped a conference game to Canisius on Monday afternoon by a score of 65-62.
 
Summary
  • Canisius got out to an early lead, and extended their lead by six points. The Red Foxes cut their lead to three after one quarter of play.
  • The Red Foxes went 7-for-8 from the free throw line in the first quarter.
  • The Golden Griffins shot .313 from the field and .375 from three in the second quarter. Canisius led the Red Foxes heading into the locker room, 31-23.
  • A layup from Zaria Shazer brought Marist within four points with .40 seconds remaining in the third quarter. The Red Foxes outshot the Golden Griffins by a basket in the third quarter, 15-13.
  • Red Foxes continued to battle in the fourth quarter. The Red Foxes came within a basket in the last minute of the game from an 11-4 scoring run. Kiara Fisher scored nine of the 11 points in the final minute. Canisius defeated Marist by a score of 65-61.
