ALBANY, New York – The Marist men's basketball team earned a 62-53 win at Siena on Friday night in a Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference game at MVP Arena.
 
The Red Foxes trailed by as much as 10 early in the second half, but they earned their fourth straight win as they completed the comeback.
 

Summary

• After Siena's Nick Hopkins opened the scoring with a three-pointer, Marist countered with a 12-2 run, as the Red Foxes took a six-point lead. Jao Ituka had eight points in the Red Foxes' run.
• The Saints answered the Red Foxes' run shortly afterward with a 12-1 run of their own, which gave Siena a 20-15 lead at the 6:45 mark.
• A three-pointer by Matt Herasme, followed by two free throws from Samkelo Cele, tied the game at 20 at the 5:50 mark.
• Siena outscored Marist 14-7 over the final 5:31 of the half, and took a 34-27 lead to the locker room.
• A three-pointer by Nick Hopkins opened the second-half scoring, and gave Siena a game-high lead of 10.

• Ituka totaled 23 points, eight rebounds, three steals, and two assists. He shot 10-for-12 from the free-throw line.
• Wright had 15 points, all of which came in the game's final 12:18.
• Marist's center tandem of Victor Enoh (10 rebounds), Jordan Jones (seven), and Rollin Belton (one) combined for 18 rebounds.
• Anthony Gaines led Siena with 15 points.
• Marist outrebounded Siena, 45-28.
• Marist shot 18-for-22 (.818) from the free-throw line, which Siena shot 5-for-8 (.625).
• Marist shot .352 (19-for-54) from the field, but held Siena to .345 (20-for-58).

 

Notes

• Marist's four-game winning streak is its best of the season.
• It was the eighth time this season Ituka scored at least 20 points in game, including each of his last four contests.
• Enoh's 10 rebounds set a season high, and Ituka set a career high with his eight rebounds.
• This was the third time this season, including second time in the last three games, that Marist came back from a double-digit deficit to win. This has now happened six times in the tenure of head coach John Dunne.
• This was Marist's first win over Siena at MVP Arena since March 1, 2013.
• Marist's rebound margin of +17 was its best of the season, and its best since having a +17 margin in a win over Niagara on Feb. 23, 2020.
• This was Marist's second win this season when trailing at halftime, and the seven-point halftime deficit is the largest the Red Foxes have had to overcome this year.
• Marist has now held eight opponents under 40 percent from the field, and is 6-2 in these games.

• Marist is 12-13 overall and 7-9 in the MAAC.
• Siena is 12-10 overall and 9-5 in conference play.
