Men’s Basketball Comes Back for Clutch Road Win at Siena

Red Foxes Bounce Back From 10-Point Deficit for Fourth Straight Win

ALBANY, New York – The Marist men's basketball team earned a 62-53 win at Siena on Friday night in a Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference game at MVP Arena.
 
The Red Foxes trailed by as much as 10 early in the second half, but they earned their fourth straight win as they completed the comeback.
 
Summary
  • After Siena's Nick Hopkins opened the scoring with a three-pointer, Marist countered with a 12-2 run, as the Red Foxes took a six-point lead. Jao Ituka had eight points in the Red Foxes' run.

  • This was the third time this season, including second time in the last three games, that Marist came back from a double-digit deficit to win. This has now happened six times in the tenure of head coach John Dunne.
  • This was Marist's first win over Siena at MVP Arena since March 1, 2013.
  • Marist's rebound margin of +17 was its best of the season, and its best since having a +17 margin in a win over Niagara on Feb. 23, 2020.
  • This was Marist's second win this season when trailing at halftime, and the seven-point halftime deficit is the largest the Red Foxes have had to overcome this year.
  • Marist has now held eight opponents under 40 percent from the field, and is 6-2 in these games.
