POUGHKEEPSIE, New York – The Marist men's basketball team won its fifth straight on Sunday, as the Red Foxes earned a 67-66 triumph over Quinnipiac at McCann Arena.
 

Summary

• Marist scored the game's first nine points on three-pointers by Matt Herasme, Ricardo Wright, and Samkelo Cele on the Red Foxes' first three possessions.
• Quinnipiac countered with a 9-0 run of its own to tie the score at the 14:57 mark.
• Marist then went up six on three-pointers by Braden Bell and Raheim Sullivan, but Quinnipiac answered with back-to-back threes from Tymu Chenery and Matt Balanc.

• Marist then went on a 14-2 run, which included three-pointers by Bell, Wright, Sullivan, and Noah Harris.
• Back-to-back threes by Bell and Harris capped an 8-0 run, and put Marist up 55-46 with 9:45 left.
• With 5:39 to go, Luis Kortright's layup tied the score 57. On Marist's next possession, Jordan Jones' three-point play put the Red Foxes back in front.
• Starting at the 4:31 mark, the lead changed hands four times in the next 100 seconds. Jao Ituka's three-pointer at the 2:51 mark gave Marist the lead for good.
• With 18 seconds to play, Kevin Marfo hit a free throw to bring Quinnipiac within one. Marfo missed the second free throw and missed on two more chances. The Red Foxes also got a stop on the Bobcats' final possession to pull out the victory.

• Marist shot 15-for-26 (.577) from three-point range.
• The Red Foxes had three double-digit scorers, all off the bench: Sullivan (12), Jones (11), and Bell (11). Bell also led the Red Foxes with six rebounds.
• Ituka had six assists, and Sullivan had five. As a team, Marist had 18 assists on 24 field goals.
• Both teams had 13 turnovers, but Marist had a 20-5 advantage in points off turnovers.
• Quinnipiac's Jones led all scorers with 16.
• Marfo finished with five points, 11 rebounds, seven assists, and three steals.

• Marist has its first five-game winning streak since the 2013-14 season.
• Marist's 13 wins this season are its most since the 2012-13 season.
• The Red Foxes now sit in fifth place after being in 11^th place 12 days ago.
