Red Foxes Winners of Four Straight

POUGHKEEPSIE, New York - The Marist water polo team won their fourth straight game on Sunday afternoon, defeating Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference opponent Saint Francis-Brooklyn by a final score of 16-11.

  • In a first quarter that started off slow, Marist was able to come away with a two goal lead due to some timely scoring and defensive stops.
  • In the second quarter, Marist got clicking offensively, scoring five goals to take a 7-4 lead into the break.
  • The Red Foxes continued their offensive success, scoring nine goals in the second half to outpace Saint Francis-Brooklyn and go on to win, 16-11. 
  • The Terriers had their offensive opportunities, however Marina Hyham's seven save performance kept the scoring limited.
  • Sawyer Alter, Madeline Schultz, and Viktoria Orlova each had three goals to lead the Red Foxes.
  • Ella Baumgarten and Myriam Lizotte both found the back of the net twice.
  • Fallon Burnworth, Shannon Connolly, and Kathryn McCullough added goals to bring the total to eight different Red Foxes who scored on the evening.
UP NEXT
  • The Red Foxes improve to 15-9 and have four games next weekend, traveling to take on Iona (9 a.m.) and Wagner (4:00 p.m.) on the road on Saturday. On Sunday, Marist returns home to take on Villanova (9 a.m.) and La Salle (4:00 p.m.).
