POUGHKEEPSIE, New York - After dropping two games on the road on Saturday, the Marist water polo team bounced back in a big way on Sunday, defeating Villanova and La Salle in McCann Natatorium.

• After scoring four goals in the first and second period, Marist took a 8-4 lead into the half.
• Villanova came out strong in the third quarter, scoring three goals and holding Marist to two goals.
• Marist was able to find the back of the net four times in the second half to secure the 12-9 victory. 
• Madeline Schultz (four goals), Ella Baumgarten (three goals), and Shinae Carrington (two goals) led the way for the Red Foxes.
• Marina Hyham was exceptional in net, recording nine saves and five steals.

• Marist came out of the gates strong, leading 6-0 after the first quarter.
• The Red Foxes continued to have their way in the second quarter to take a 9-2 lead into the halftime break.
• La Salle didn't go down without a fight as the Explorers piled in eight second half goals.
• Marist's offense proved to be too much for La Salle, as the Red Foxes scored seven second half goals to win 16-10.
• India Alter had the hot hand in this one, scoring five goals on five shots, while Myriam Lizotte also added three goals.
• Ella Baumgarten, Madeline Schultz, and Victoria Padilla each had two goals in the victory.

• Marist is now 17-11 (4-2 MAAC) and will look to continue their winning ways as their conference schedule ramps up. The Red Foxes will host Iona (10 a.m.) and VMI (3 p.m.) next Saturday, April 2 before traveling to Pennsylvania to take on La Salle (9 a.m.) and Villanova (4 p.m.) on Sunday.
