Marist Hosts Two MAAC Competitions

The Red Foxes Host Siena & Fairfield

POUGHKEEPSIE, New York – The Marist women's lacrosse team has two games to play this week at Tenney Stadium: a Wednesday clash with rival Siena, and a Saturday game against Fairfield as the program celebrates Senior Day. The game against Siena starts at 4 p.m. on March 30, and on April 2, their game with Fairfield will be played at 1 p.m.

 
Last Time Out
  • Marist lost their MAAC opener at home against the Quinnipiac Bobcats this past Saturday, 19-7. 
  • Quinnipiac scored five unanswered goals to start the game. 
  • Hannah Spease and Kerri Gutenberger each had two goals, with Gutenberger also posting an assist. 
  • Alana Tavares, Maddie Schrader, and Alex Di Chiara each had a goal. 
  • Di Charia recorded two assists as well. 
 
Scouting Siena 
  • The Saints are 5-5 this year and 1-0 in-conference, beating Iona this past weekend, 21-20. 
  • Siena is currently on a three-game win streak, with wins coming against La Salle, Wagner, and Iona. 
  • Senior Mary Soures leads the Saints with 24 goals in only six games. 
  • Fifth year player Nicole McNeely leads Siena with 40 points, scoring 21 goals and 19 assists in 10 games this season. 
  • Marist is 17-9 against the Saints all-time. 
  • The last matchup fell 17-16 in favor of Siena on April 28, 2021.
 
Scouting Fairfield
  • Fairfield is currently 5-3 this season and have yet to play a conference game, but that changes when the Stags play Iona on Wednesday.
  • In their last five games, they are 3-2, with notable wins coming in their 20-12 win against Lafayette, and their most recent 11-10 win against Sacred Heart.
  • Their top goal scorer is Rylee Harrell with 19 goals, but their point leader is Libby Rowe with 24 points (15G, 9A).
  • Against the Stags, the Red Foxes are 11-23, with their most recent meeting ending in 14-13 overtime win for Fairfield in the quarterfinal round of last year's MAAC Championship.
