Red Foxes Have a Big Meet Ahead of Them

POUGHKEEPSIE, New York – Some of the Marist men's and women's track and field team is heading out to Azusa, California this weekend to participate in the Bryan Clay Invitational. The event will take place from Wednesday, April 13th to Friday, April 15th.
 
Last Time Out for the Men:
  • The Red Foxes participated in both the Vassar Invite and the Metropolitan Championships with a limited squad.
  • At the Mets, Glenmour Leonard-Osbounre entered his third consecutive week of beating the school record in the 100-meter dash, crushing his week-old record with a time of 10.39. He won both that event and the 200-meter dash, where he finished with a time of 21.36.
  • Also at the Mets, three Marist runners notched best times and finished back-to-back-to-back in fifth, sixth, and seventh for the 5,000-meter run. Daniel Czop finished in fifth with a time of 15:26.07, John Ignacz finished sixth with a time of 15:28.42, and Jon Kittredge finished seventh with a time of 15:30.59.
  • At Vassar, Jeremy Mooney finished first in both the 100-meter dash and the 200-meter dash, finishing with times of 11.28 and 22.26, respectively.
  • Overall, the men finished 3rd at Vassar and 9th at the Mets.
 
Last Time out for the Women:
  • The Red Foxes participated in the Vassar Invite last week.
  • Jessica Ippolito took first place in the pole vault event with an incredible score of 3.25 meters (10ft, 8in.). She broke her own school record following her performance.
  • In the 800-meter run, the Red Foxes held 6 of the top 10 spots. Leading the pack was Greta Stuckey with a time of 2:24.33, allowing her to place second in this event.
  • Grace O'Neill and Anne Bekasi both finished with new best scores in the high jump. O'Neill finished third with a score of 1.55 meters (5ft, 1in.) and Bekasi finished fourth with a score of 1.50 meters (4ft, 11in.).
  • The Red Foxes finished the meet in third place.
