Women’s Basketball Defeats Saint Peter’s

Shazer Leads Red Foxes With Double-Double

JERSEY CITY, New Jersey – The Marist women's basketball team picked up a Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference victory against Saint Peter's Thursday night. The Red Foxes defeated the Peacocks, 59-43.

  • The Red Foxes took an early 8-2 lead in the first quarter.
  • Saint Peter's would go on a mini-run to tie the game at 10 apiece. The Red Foxes closed out the first quarter leading 15-10.
  • The Red Foxes would continue to add to their lead, opening the second quarter with a three-pointer from Zaria Shazer.
  • Marist led 31-22 heading into the locker room at half. The Red Foxes shot .636 from the field and .500 for three in the second quarter.
  • The Red Foxes held the Peacocks to just seven points in the third. The Red Foxes went on two six point runs in the third quarter. 
  • To close out the game in the fourth quarter, the Red Foxes shot .357 from the field and .667 from three. Marist defeated Saint Peter's 59-43.

  • Marist outrebounded Saint Peter's 44-37. 
  • Three Red Foxes scored in double figures: Shazer (15), Maeve Donnelly (12), and Kendall Krick (11). 
  • Shazer had her second double-double of the season. She also had a game-high 13 rebounds, and came up just one assist shy of a triple-double with nine. The nine assists set a career high.
  • Donnelly scored double figures for the second time this season.
