Track & Field Set for Wagner Invitational

Red Foxes Set to Compete in First of Five Meets at Ocean Breeze

POUGHKEEPSIE, New York - The Marist men's and women's track & field teams travel to Staten Island, New York for the Wagner Invitational meet at the Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex.

 
Last Time Out for Women
  • Grace O'Neill cleared 1.60m in the high jump, securing the school record and placing third overall. Kiana Pathirana also set a school record in the triple jump with 10.75m, earning her fifth place. 
  • Stephania Granados also had a successful season opener as she secured personal-bests in both the 60m dash (8.28, 22nd) and the 200m dash (27.04, 12th). Julie Cristinzio also ran personal-bests in both of her events: 200m dash (27.47, 16th) and 400m dash (1:03.02, 19th).
  • Breelyn McNamara (27.14 13th), Julia Kropo (27.60,17th), and Kate Beebe (29.01, 21st) also ran personal-bests in the 200m dash.
  • The following athletes also secured personal-best times in their respective events: Madison LaCreta - 60m hurdles (9.67, 7th), Caroline Bell - 600m run (1:48.54, 8th), Grace Fletcher - 800m run (2:25.40, 15th), Parker O'Brien - Mile (5:10.90, 36th).
Last Time Out for Men
  • Amari Mathis led the way with two personal-best marks, including an IC4A qualifying time of 6.94 in the 60m dash, where he placed second overall. Additionally, he achieved a top-five finish in the 200m dash with a time of 22.45
  • Easton Eberwein also had a strong season debut. He ran a personal-best 22.94 in the 200 dash and secured a top-10 finish in the 400, crossing the finish line in 50.15 seconds, which was good for ninth place.
  • Senior John Ignacz (2:00.33, 24th) ran a personal-best in the 800m.
  • Freshmen Raffi Buchakjian (2:32.89, 10th) secured a top-10 finish in the 1,000m run, while Sean Dearie (2:34.55, 13th) followed closely behind.
