EDISON, New Jersey- Junior goalkeeper Miranda Lopes of the Marist women's lacrosse team was named Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the Week, the conference announced Monday afternoon.
 
Lopes picked up her first MAAC weekly accolade of the season. She finished the week tallying 24 saves as she recorded a career high 16 saves in a 12-11 Marist victory against conference opponent Niagara.
 
In Addition, Lopes leads the MAAC conference in saves per game as she is averaging 10.33 saves per game as has 155 saves on the season.
