Calista Phippen Inducted Into New York State High School Softball Hall of Fame

Two-Time Marist Graduate Honored for Outstanding Scholastic Career

POUGHKEEPSIE, New York – Calista Phippen was inducted into the New York State High School Softball Hall of Fame on June 17.

The induction ceremony took place at the Mudville Sports Complex in Herkimer, New York, which Phippen attended just 30 hours after undergoing her third knee surgery.

Prior to her arrival at Marist, Phippen played scholastically at Ichabod Crane High School from 2015-18. She led the Riders to their first state championship in school history in 2015 and their second in 2018. Phippen was named New York State Gatorade Player of the Year in both 2017 and 2018. She compiled a 77-7 record with 1,193 strikeouts, 56 shutouts, and 15 no-hitters in high school.

Phippen enjoyed an outstanding career at Marist, where she helped lead the Red Foxes to the MAAC championship in 2023. She finished her career in the top five in program history in strikeouts (548, third), wins (53, fourth), ERA (1.99, fourth), shutouts (14, fourth), innings pitched (559, fourth) and complete games (58, fifth). She was a three-time All-MAAC selection, MAAC Co-Rookie of the Year in 2019, a Top 25 NFCA Freshman selection in 2019, and Marist's Female Co-Sportsperson of the Year in 2023.

Phippen is a two-time Marist graduate. She earned a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science with minors in Information Technology, Information Systems, and Cybersecurity in 2022. She earned a Master's degree in Software Development with a concentration in Cloud Computing in 2023. A seven-time Dean's List honoree and three-time CSC/CoSIDA Academic All-District selection, Phippen was a four-year member of Marist's Student-Athlete Advisory Committee and Inclusion & Diversity Subcommittee.

Phippen is the second Red Fox in the last five years to be inducted into the New York State High School Softball Hall of Fame. Danielle Koltz, who played at Marist from 2010-13 and helped the Red Foxes win the MAAC championship in 2013, was a 2019 inductee.
