POUGHKEEPSIE, New York – Danielle Koltz, a 2013 Marist graduate, was inducted into the New York State High School Softball Hall of Fame this past weekend.
Â
Prior to coming to Marist, Koltz was a four-time all-state selection at Chenango Valley High School. In each of her final three high school seasons, she was a first team selection at three different positions (third base as a sophomore, shortstop as a junior, and pitcher as a senior).
Â
Koltz then played for the Red Foxes from 2010-13, and helped the Red Foxes to the 2013 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference championship as a captain and first team all-conference selection. That season, Koltz set a then-program record with 49 runs scored, and hit .367 with nine home runs and 39 runs batted in.
Â
Six years after her graduation, Koltz remains in Marist's career top 10 in seven statistical categories: home runs (fifth, 28), doubles (sixth, 35), runs batted in (tied for sixth, 117), at bats (tied for sixth, 601), runs (seventh, 113), games played (10
th, 200), and stolen bases (tied for 10
th, 25).
Â
Starting with Koltz's sophomore year, the Marist softball team has had eight winning seasons in the last nine years. The program has won three MAAC championships in its history (2006, 2013, and 2016).
